HRSEA offers progressive learning activities and experiential opportunities designed to effectively and efficiently integrate new Paychex hires by focusing on strategic thinking skills, business acumen and technical skills. Using a blended and engaging learning approach, the program aims to ensure that Paychex HR professionals are confident to proactively assist clients with the wide variety of HR issues and challenges, including navigating federal and state COVID-19 regulations, workplace safety, on-site and remote work. , and increased emphasis on mental health in the workplace. Program content is developed in-house by subject matter experts and Paychex learning designers.
The Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards 2021 recognize organizations that have gone above and beyond to support their customers during the unprecedented disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The “Best Use of a Blended Learning Program,” for which Paychex won gold, recognizes programs that combine instructor-led training and technology-based activities.

The eight-week cohort-based training program is designed to prepare new HR professionals to learn about Paychex’s products and services, systems and service model. Participants experience the expectations of the role through an interactive and hands-on application. Blended learning methods in the HRSEA program include:
- Video coaching
- Social learning through a learning management system (LMS)
- Exposure to senior management
- Live role play with in-person learning mentors and instructors
- Lively discussion on reading assignments, during which three SHRM recertification credits can be earned
- Sandbox access to key systems and proprietary technology tools
