PETALING JAYA: The 12th Malaysian Plan (12MP) will focus on several key areas of human capital development for the education sector.
Through the 12MP, the government will focus on realigning the labor market for inclusive and sustainable growth, as well as developing future-ready talent.
“The focus will be on increasing employment opportunities for Malaysians, securing fair compensation for employees, improving labor market participation and strengthening labor market support.
“Strategies for producing future-ready talent will include improving the quality of academic and training programs, ensuring equitable learning outcomes, leveraging emerging technologies and strengthening governance,” the report said.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pictured) said this when tabling the five-year development roadmap (2021-2025) after Question Time at Dewan Rakyat on Monday, September 27.
According to the targets chosen by the government for the plan, it wants to be at the level of the international average for the score of the Program for International Student Assessment and Trends in International Studies in Mathematics and Science; achieve an enrollment rate greater than or equal to the universal enrollment of preschool and secondary students, which is 95%; and achieve 86.7% employability of graduates in higher education institutions and public TVET institutions.
The aim of the plan is to also see two public universities in the top 100 QS World University Rankings.
